How To Get Tested For HPV
Since the symptoms of HPV are not overtly manifest as symptoms, they are generally ignored and go largely undetected. Talking about treatment of HPV, the warts that it gives rise to can be managed though they cannot be cured or done away with before the time they take to go away. While in men, the most HPV could do is to express in the form of warts at the tip of the penis, on the shaft of the penis, on the scrotum or around the anus, in women they could be the indicators of cervical cancer. The latter is detected through a pap smear test to determine the cause of abnormal changes in the cervix.
Prevention as they say is always better than cure. Thus, in the absence of treatment, men and women who stand high risk of HPV because of their promiscuous lifestyles are advised to cut down on their sexual hyperactivity. Among men, besides their penis and genitals, warts could also appear in the mouth or throat, which could be a result of oral sex by way of cunnalingus among heterosexual men and fellation among homosexuals. Men and women are both advised for their better to be faithful and to follow safe practices during sex such as use of condoms.
Some medical entrepreneurs have come up with medications such as the homoeopathic Dermisil, which claims to “eliminate strains of warts, including common warts, plantar warts, genital warts including (venereal, vaginal, perianal, anal warts), flat warts, verruca, molluscum, and skin tags without pain, scarring or harsh treatments through traditional methods with the use of exclusive plant extracts. The manufacturers claim that topical application of these extracts absorb into the skin and blood stream as soon as applied to the skin and say that this is the “most effective and gentle” method for all types of wart removal on vagina, penis or anus.
